The first strong man competition

Terry Hollands began his career as a tough competitor in 2005. In his first year, he managed to secure second place in the England’s Strongest Man competition. Soon after, he won the UK’s Strongest Man competition.

Terry Hollands is very particular about his workout routines and often hits the gym six days a week. He has scheduled gym sessions for three days a week and three event exercise sessions. Generally speaking, it is best to go for 3 to 5 reps that are done in 3 to 5 sets for a given practice.

When it comes to his diet, he prefers to eat around 6,000 to 8,000 calories a day. However, since it’s so hard to reach that number by relying solely on a clean diet, he tries to fill the deficit by eating plenty of protein shake. Also, while preparing the shakes, he ensures that he uses the minimum amount of water possible so that it does not fill up quickly.

  • While growing up, he used to participate in rugby and judo.
  • Although he was actively involved in sports from a very young age, he did not undertake any serious gym training until the age of 22. It was around this time that he began following an exercise routine to improve his rugby performance.
  • In 2004, he developed a serious leg infection due to having to stay away from training for so long. By the time he got back into the gym, he decided to focus on training the tough guy.
  • In June 2010, while participating in the European Strongest Man competition, he tore the muscles in his biceps. But he managed to achieve a quick recovery.
